Position Overview

The Cross-Covering clinician plays a vital role in supporting our mission by delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients when their primary care providers are unavailable. This position involves reviewing and interpreting laboratory results, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical communications for patients, ensuring continuity of care through both virtual and in-person interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

  • Conduct thorough physical assessments, including a comprehensive review of medical histories.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies.
  • Perform necessary therapeutic procedures, such as injections and wound care.
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, health maintenance, and emotional well-being.
  • Ensure a positive patient experience through attentive and accurate care.
  • Deliver age-appropriate medical care to diverse patient populations.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with care teams to achieve optimal patient health outcomes.
  • Foster trust and confidence in our healthcare services among patients and colleagues.
  • Respond compassionately to the needs of patients and staff.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and objectives through teamwork.

Clinical Administration

  • Develop and implement comprehensive patient management plans, documenting progress effectively.
  • Adhere to organizational protocols under the supervision of licensed physicians.
  • Stay informed about organizational initiatives and promote our mission.
  • Operate at the highest level of competency in accordance with professional credentials.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in California.
  • Active DEA license in California.
  • Current BLS certification from an approved provider.

Essential Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with excellent composition and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of instructions effectively.
  • Experience in providing direct patient care.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

Compliance and Safety

  • Follow infection control procedures and ensure patient privacy.

Compensation

Salary range: $147,000 to $199,000 per year, based on experience.
