About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a PTA, you will play a vital role in administering physical therapy modalities and rehabilitation treatments to patients, working closely with our physical therapists to restore patient functioning and prevent disability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer physical therapy modalities and rehabilitation treatments as directed by the physical therapist.
  • Assist patients in achieving their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Participate in operational aspects of the department, perform performance improvement activities, and attend team and/or family conferences as needed.

Requirements

  • AA degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • NYS PTA license.
  • Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Working Conditions

This role requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. You will work in a fast-paced environment with some occupational risk and physical effort, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force. You will also be exposed to some dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
