We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital. As a PTA, you will play a vital role in administering physical therapy modalities and rehabilitation treatments to patients, assisting them in achieving their maximum performance and level of functioning.
Key Responsibilities- Administer physical therapy modalities and rehabilitation treatments as directed by the physical therapist
- Assist patients in restoring their functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability
- Participate in operational aspects of the department, perform performance improvement activities, and attend team and/or family conferences as needed
- AA degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
- NYS PTA license
- Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology
- Basic computer knowledge
This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. You will also be exposed to some occupational risk and physical effort, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force. The physical environment may include some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
