Job Summary

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists play a crucial role in the diagnostic process, utilizing radiofrequencies and magnetic fields to produce high-quality images for medical professionals to interpret.

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, preparing patients for exams, and ensuring accurate and safe imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient information, ensuring accurate identification and preparation for exams
  • Operate MRI equipment, adjusting technical factors to optimize image quality and patient safety
  • Administer medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners, documenting activities and adhering to federal and state regulations
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and technical quality, verifying archival storage and data transfer
  • Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers, promoting a culture of safety and excellence
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Certification Board (NMTCB) required upon hire
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB prior to first day of employment
  • Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months
