Job Highlights

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a Travel RN for Emergency Services, working 48-hour shifts, 3p-3:30a, 12x4, with the possibility of 36-hour shifts.
Length: 13 weeks
Travelers may be scheduled for weekend shifts as required. Weekend days include Saturday and Sunday, while weekend nights are defined as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Qualifications:
  • Active NM nursing license
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required; candidates with 1.5 years may be considered
  • Certifications: BLS, NIH, PALS, ACLS, TNCC
  • Preferred experience in Level 1 trauma centers
  • Teaching hospital experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation is advantageous
  • Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
  • Travel experience is highly regarded; however, candidates with 2+ years of Level 1 experience may be considered
Floating to Pediatric ED is optional, while floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needs. Potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma may occur as necessary. First-time travelers are welcome, but travel experience is strongly preferred. Scrub Color: Black, not specified. Charting: Cerner. No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius. Ratios: 1:5
Additional Information:
*NM license may be pending at the time of submission. *Travel experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates with 2+ years of Level 1 experience may be considered.
36 or 48-hour shifts available.
Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department is admitted, with many ED rooms designated as "ED Holding."
Level 1 trauma experience is preferred.
*No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius. COVID vaccination is required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted upon completion of the COVID exemption form, signed by a provider for medical exemptions.
***TNCC certification must be obtained before submission.******NIH certification can be pending until compliance documentation is due before the traveler starts.
Currently experiencing an increased number of admit holds.
Responsibilities include medication administration, including IV medications, and documenting and communicating clinical findings.
Emergency Department
Ratios: 1:5. Years of experience required: 2 years; candidates with 1.5 years may be considered. First-time travelers accepted: Yes, but travel experience is strongly preferred. Weekend requirements: Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend days include Saturday and Sunday, while weekend nights are defined as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC. Is on-call required? No. Will the clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Floating to Pediatric ED is optional; floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needs. Potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma may occur as necessary. Open to accommodating block schedules? Yes, upon request. Local candidates accepted? No, within a 75-mile radius. Pending license accepted? Yes. RTO restrictions: greater than 7 days requires approval. Guaranteed hours: contracted hours (36/48/40) per week; the facility is allowed to call off 3 times throughout a 13-week assignment.

OT Rules:
48-hour contracts - OT starts after 48 hours.
36 or 40-hour contracts - OT starts after 40 hours.
