Job Title: Clinical Research Inventory Specialist

At Eastern Connecticut Hematology and Oncology, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Inventory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient management of investigational agents, temperature control, and inventory tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the receipt, recording, and electronic submission of investigational agents to sponsors, including temperature excursion tracking.
  • Conduct daily temperature assessments and communicate any excursions to sponsors, along with corrective actions.
  • Review inventory stock to determine expiry dates and collaborate with staff for drug destruction or return of expired items.
  • Monthly review of local drug logs to ensure accurate dispensation and mathematical accuracy.
  • Attend site initiation visits and review manuals to ensure proper IP handling and logging.
  • Review patient visit lists to determine central laboratory specimen collection needs, in collaboration with study coordinators or research administration.
  • Process laboratory specimens for central laboratory submission and order/process tissue specimens as required by sponsors.
  • Obtain and electronically send radiologic test CDs to sponsors' vendors.
  • Schedule appointments with external vendors and provide electronic access to databases.
  • Assist clinical staff in ordering genomic testing and enter results in OncoTrials database.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or community clinic setting required.
  • Reliable transportation required for travel between multiple sites.
