Overview:


The Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Facility is in search of a dedicated Food Services Assistant to provide essential support in meal preparation and service operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in cooking and baking tasks
  • Set up and serve meals in accordance with established protocols
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Document food service activities as required

Qualifications:

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of six months in food preparation or related field
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in large-scale food service operations
  • Degree in Food Science and completion of Safe Serve training is advantageous

Certifications Needed:
  • Valid food handler's permit
  • First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire
  • Recent tuberculosis screening
  • Training in Blood borne/Airborne Pathogens
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or waiver

Working Environment:
  • Work within a secure kitchen setting
  • Physical requirements include lifting items up to 50 pounds
