Class A CDL Driver Position

As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for operating a straight truck, tractor-trailer, or double trailer to deliver products or assets to customers, warehouses, and distributors in a safe and timely manner. You will follow designated routes and schedules, load and unload products as required, and maintain a clean vehicle. Additionally, you will communicate effectively with customers and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies.
- Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations.
- Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns.
- Load and unload product as required at designated stops.
- Communicate effectively with customers and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager.
- Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day.
- Perform load inventory and document condition of freight before departure.
- Attend all driver workshops and training sessions.
- Use company-supported applications or systems properly.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer, within the last 5 years preferred.
- Must meet minimum age requirements.
- Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records.
- Must meet all DOT requirements.
- Certification and/or License – valid Class A CDL; some drivers may be required to have a doubles endorsement.
- Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements.
- Skill in proficient computer usage.
- Skill with math for calculating load size and recording accurate volume/weight measurements.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to contribute to the positive performance behaviors through personal example.
- Able to be proactive in seeking solutions and taking appropriate steps to solve problems.
- Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork.
- Able to be punctual, follow directions, and meet deadlines.
- Able to present options and ideas to current processes or procedures.
- Able to interpret and apply company policies.
- Able to adapt and manage to change effectively.
- Able to perform tasks and duties with minimal supervision.
- Able to take initiative in performing job.
- Good organization and record-keeping skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
