The Accounting Department at Domino's Pizza is in search of a Senior Accountant who possesses strong analytical skills and relevant accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
(65%) Fixed Asset Management
Prepare and deliver precise fixed asset subledger reports, financial statements, and supplementary documents for both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure the integrity of the fixed asset system, managing retirements, modifications, and additions, while accurately recording depreciation on a regular basis.
Handle period-end accounting entries related to fixed assets, including accruals and adjustments.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and certifications.
Analyze CAPEX, Service Channel, and fixed asset processes, identifying any misstatement risks and communicating these to management.
Collaborate with internal clients to resolve outstanding accounting issues.
Monitor account activities and alert management to any irregularities.
Provide fixed asset reporting to internal stakeholders post-financial period closure.
Serve as a subject matter expert on fixed assets, guiding internal clients on their implications for financial statements and general ledger.
Work with internal and external partners to ensure timely and accurate recording of fixed asset transactions.
Collaborate with other accounting teams and finance divisions to ensure compliance with GAAP and timely reporting of operating results.
Maintain robust internal controls and adhere to company policies to prevent deficiencies in fixed asset and CAPEX processes.
(25%) Lease Accounting
Oversee compliance with GAAP lease accounting for corporate-owned stores, including offices and equipment.
Evaluate leasing contracts to determine if they meet lease criteria under ASC 842.
Perform lease assessments and measure right-of-use assets and lease liabilities for new or amended leases.
Manage the lease asset portfolio within the leasing system.
Record accounting entries for new leases and modifications, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
Prepare periodic reconciliations and assist in the preparation of quarterly lease disclosures for SEC filings.
Advise business partners on the accounting implications of lease transactions.
(10%) Special Projects and Support
Assist with financial impact analyses for various projects.
Support financial reporting by reviewing quarterly and annual reports.
Contribute to the development of new accounting policies and procedures.
Assist with audit requests and system upgrade testing.
Collaborate with accounting managers to resolve outstanding issues and provide training to other team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of relevant experience (5+ years preferred)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Self-motivated and capable of independent work
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and database software
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, HFM, and Blackline is advantageous
