Job Summary:

As an Advanced Practice Provider in the Operating Room at Winchester Hospital, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. You will assist specialist physicians in coordinating and delivering safe patient care, providing care for inpatients under the supervision of physicians, and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve expected outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist specialist physicians in the coordination and delivery of high-quality patient care in the Operating Room
• Provide care for inpatients under the supervision of physicians
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve expected outcomes
• Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans
• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions

Requirements:

• Completion of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)-approved program
• Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner License
• Clinical experience in Surgical Services
• Ability to first assist in the Operating Room
• Ability to perform procedures at the bedside
• Ability to assist with patient management in the designed specialty in collaboration with other healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters of Science of Physician Assistant Studies with focus in specialty field
• At least 6 months of clinical experience in a specialty
• Surgical Services: experience with central venous access, chest tube placement and management, and managing general and vascular surgical patients
• Orthopedic and Spine: general skills for managing care for patients, providing surgical assist support
