Substation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to join our team at Grays Harbor PUD. As a Substation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining our substations and related systems.

• Design and develop substation layouts, electrical systems, and equipment specifications
• Perform system protection studies and coordination, and assist with electrical equipment programming and testing
• Collaborate with other departments to design, implement, and maintain communication protocols for data interfaces to intelligent devices
• Participate in research and development of solutions for integrating devices into SCADA and substation automation systems
• Provide training, documentation, and technical support during the installation, maintenance, and operation of SCADA and substation automation equipment

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Power utility experience preferred, but not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools
