Responsibilities:

- Assess the communication needs of students based on concerns from school staff, parents, and classroom observations, as well as reviewing the child's background.

- Identify individuals with language, speech, and/or hearing disorders through thorough evaluation and diagnostic methods. - Collect diagnostic data through standardized tests and informal assessments, alongside classroom observations. - Conduct comprehensive examinations to determine the nature and severity of language, speech, or hearing disabilities. - Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans for students diagnosed with communication disorders, ensuring effective program delivery. - Collaborate with educational teams to plan and execute language and speech improvement initiatives. - Share diagnostic findings with colleagues to evaluate the impact of communication disorders on academic performance. - Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to devise strategies that address each child's communication requirements. - Serve as a knowledgeable resource in language, speech, and hearing matters, and pursue ongoing professional development. - Undertake additional related tasks as necessary to support the efficient operation of the educational environment and enhance student learning outcomes.
Essential Skills:

- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- ESA Certification in Washington State
- Public school experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, parents, and community members
- Cultural competence and adaptability to changing circumstances
- Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Adherence to school policies and administrative procedures.
