Job Summary:

A Housekeeping and Laundry Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of a building's facilities to provide a comfortable and healthy environment for residents. This role involves performing various tasks such as cleaning floors, restrooms, and resident rooms, as well as dusting surfaces, sweeping, and mopping floors. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain facilities standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance by complying with established procedures.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors, as well as cleaning restrooms and resident rooms.
  • Assist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing, and sorting linen.
  • Collect and remove trash and debris, and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Work with a team of housekeepers to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained.
  • Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Respond to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills or accidents.
  • Perform terminal cleaning in resident rooms when discharged or transferred, and prepare rooms for new residents.
Working Conditions:

This role is based in a nursing home setting, and the successful candidate will be required to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and bend, lift, carry, push, and pull various equipment or supplies throughout the workday.
