Position Overview
We are seeking a Medical Writer to join our Scientific and Medical Services team. This role involves collaborating with clients and internal teams to produce a diverse range of high-quality scientific and medical documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Become the subject matter expert on assigned therapies and disease states, remaining informed about relevant trends.
- Convert complex medical data into engaging and relevant content that aligns with brand strategies and is suitable for various target audiences. This may include slide presentations, manuscripts, posters, newsletters, video scripts, or podcasts.
- Identify and leverage pertinent data sources to comprehensively outline, draft, annotate, and reference all content.
- Guide creative teams in the development of graphs, charts, and other visuals, as well as the overall layout of deliverables.
- Present draft content to clients and key opinion leaders, integrate feedback, and prepare final deliverables.
- Develop surveys and tools for both internal and external projects.
- Assist in the creation of advisory board materials as directed by account services and scientific/medical directors.
- Participate in advisory board meetings as needed, engage with clients and advisors, take notes during presentations, and prepare post-meeting deliverables.
- Support Account Services in researching and identifying potential Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within a therapeutic area based on criteria established by senior staff.
- Attend medical legal review sessions and incorporate necessary revisions.
- Maintain awareness of project budgets, scope, and timelines, and involve senior team members if work exceeds scope.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, MPH, MS, or PharmD preferred) with the ability to produce high-quality writing in various styles tailored for different audiences.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical/scientific writing experience preferred.
- Experience working directly from Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) or other primary data sources to create presentations and other deliverables.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, accurate, organized, and engaging content.
- Proficient in standard business software, particularly Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Capability to execute content development based on established strategies.
