Position Overview: The Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective execution and management of safety protocols and environmental policies at Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co., Inc. This position directly reports to the EHS Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide EHS Specialists in project management and objective setting.
  • Facilitate the rehabilitation of injured employees and coordinate ergonomic assessments with health professionals.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, DNR, and EPA regulations across all company facilities.
  • Support compliance with environmental regulations, including air quality permits, hazardous waste management, and stormwater controls.
  • Prepare and submit annual compliance reports to relevant authorities.
  • Organize and schedule annual safety training programs and develop training materials.
  • Revise and maintain the Emergency Response Plan, ensuring readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to evaluate PPE usage, machine safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Manage external security service providers.
  • Administer the Worker's Compensation Program effectively.
  • Design and implement employee incentive programs for safety performance.
  • Set and communicate goals for the EHS Department, highlighting achievements.
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance safety practices.
  • Be available to address inquiries or emergencies outside of regular working hours.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental Science.
  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Responder or willingness to obtain certification within the first year.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Additional Considerations:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility in working hours is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and training to enhance expertise in the EHS field.
