About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at System One. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing all levels of preventive maintenance services, maintaining work area appearance and safety, and ensuring that our fleet of vehicles is in proper working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services, including routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety, ensuring that our facility is clean and organized.
  • Diagnose malfunctions or ensure that equipment is working properly, using your expertise to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.
  • Drive to road calls, using your CDL Class B license to transport vehicles to and from our facility.
  • Service customers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that their needs are met.
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Inspect trucks to ensure that they are in proper working condition, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials, using your expertise to resolve complex issues.
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements, ensuring that our fleet meets all necessary standards.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diesel Mechanic/Technician training not required but is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • CDL a plus.
  • Truck mechanical aptitude.
  • Union Shop exposure a plus.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
