We are NYC’s largest house sewer and water service line contractor. They also operate a comprehensive drain-cleaning company. Our Team has been in continuous operation for over 70 years and has a pristine reputation in the NYC plumbing industry.
Our vital and growing firm is searching for a highly skilled Head Diesel Truck Mechanic responsible to work and maintain our fleet of over 50 vehicles and equipment; Freightliner FL70's, MT55's service trucks, Mack tandem and tri-axle dump trucks, CAT backhoes, Case 580 backhoes, 185CFM and 210CFM air compressors, and a wide assortment of pneumatic and other tools.
Responsibilities
Trains and manages a team of mechanics.
Manage work orders, inventory of parts, equipment, tools and supplies.
Service heavy diesel engine vehicles, including preventative, routine maintenance and repairs.
Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes
Diagnose and repair vehicles and all other equipment on our fleet.
Execute special projects as assigned by management.
Possess own mechanical tool set.
Knowledge of DOT inspections and perform preventative maintenance.
Keep detailed records and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications:
Valid and clean driver’s license.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Minimum of 10 years of diesel vehicle relevant experience.
Must have own set of tools.
Mechanical and technical knowledge: use of computers and diagnostics tools to troubleshoot and repair all faulty equipment.
Be able to diagnose and repair: Electrical, Brakes, Exhaust, Suspension, Lights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
Proven ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and seek additional information as appropriate.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

Pay: $30 - $40 per hour
