Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Production Team Captain to join our team at Wayne Fueling Systems. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for driving successful production schedules, fostering a culture of safety, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to and collaborate with Operations Supervisor to drive successful production schedules and achieve target KPIs.
  • Foster a culture that empowers and holds employees accountable for maintaining a safe work environment and championing EHS standards.
  • Collaborate with production trainers to develop and maintain operator trainings and standard work procedures.
  • Drive Operational Excellence through data-driven tier boards, actionable metrics, and necessary countermeasures.
  • Adapt and react quickly to production target changes based on shifting customer requirements.
  • Provide root cause analysis and deliver countermeasures for production defects and quality-related issues.
  • Analyze and resolve issues affecting KPI targets through team-driven continuous improvement projects.
  • Support Operational Supervisors with operator performance check-ins and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with support teams to resolve issues and develop KPI-focused strategies.
  • Exercise lean manufacturing methodologies, including 6S, Gemba, Kaizen, JIT, etc.
  • Champion the company's vision, mission, and culture.
  • Maintain up-to-date communication and knowledge of order statuses and limiters, including part shortages, defects, down equipment, etc.

Quality Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Compliance to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Customer-focused, both internal and external.
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Follow standard work instructions and do it right the first time.
  • Identify, register, and inform the immediate leader of any quality or non-conformity in product assembled.
  • Reduce customer disruptions, MRBs, and losses.
  • Engage in Zone Metrics indicators to drive continuous improvement/problem solving in the zone; actively identify detractors and record them on Tier Production Boards.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and execute.
  • Real-time application of the right quality tools.
