Job Summary

Soliant Healthcare is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide high-quality interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and effective sign language interpreting services in educational settings, including classrooms, meetings, and school events.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the educational goals of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all interpreted information and student records.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in sign language interpreting.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting or related field preferred.
  • Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent required.
  • California Department of Education (CDE) certification as an Educational Interpreter for the Deaf or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings preferred.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of deaf culture.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Knowledge of educational settings and best practices in sign language interpreting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
