Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in developing and fine-tuning process plans that meet customer end-item requirements. This position requires a strong attention to detail, a fundamental understanding of the technical, financial, and physical demands of the manufacturing process, and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement process plans that meet customer end-item requirements
- Work closely with production personnel, quality engineers, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution of process plans
- Provide written work instructions and detailed drawings to augment work instructions
- Create and execute process routers, drawing, inspection plans, and other written documentation changes
- Perform process evaluation for corrective action and product development
- Assist the quoting team by providing methods, time estimates, and cost data needed to complete customer quotations
- Provide regular communication on the status of project tasks and milestones to internal stakeholders
- Participate in resolving customer complaints and conducts corrective and preventive action investigations
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with SolidWorks and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for component and tooling design
- Experience in Design for Manufacturing/Assembly
- Fundamental understanding of machine shop practices
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the machine shop environment
- Experience working with AS9100 regulations
- Ability to read, interpret, and implement customer drawing and specification requirements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products appropriate to the execution of assigned tasks
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, tools, and techniques
- Experience in continuous improvement activities, lean manufacturing, six sigma principles

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

The Manufacturing Engineer Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $110,000 - $119,000 annually commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
