This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team to achieve established operational and quality goals. About the Role
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Sterile Processing department.
  • Monitors inventory levels of supplies and instruments and adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies and standards.
  • Maintains quality control parameters for sterilization processes and ensures biological/mechanical testing is performed on all cleaning/sterilization equipment throughout the hospital.
  • Ensures that all personnel within the department meet the requirements outlined in the job description and performs evaluations as needed.
Responsibilities
  1. Plans and directs the activities involved in the acquisition, decontamination, storage, assembly, and cleaning and sterilization of medical, surgical and related supplies, materials and equipment utilized in the care and treatment of patients.
  2. Manages Sterile Processing department personnel to achieve established operational and quality goals, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and counseling.
  3. Develops and maintains related policies and procedures.
  4. Monitors inventory levels of supplies and instruments and adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements

A competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, is offered. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Health Science or a related field, or five (5) years equivalent experience. Licenses/Certifications: Must hold or attain three (3) certifications from the following credentialing organizations within 18 months of employment. Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Minimum five (5) years of experience involving sterilization of instruments, equipment and supplies or related experience in the operating room/acute hospital environment.
