Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and construction of manufacturing facilities and related structures, and to contribute to the development of industrial manufacturing methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
  • Confer with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
  • Evaluate products based on specifications and quality standards.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • 3-5 years prior experience in a relevant function.
  • Leadership skills, oral and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, analytical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, design expertise, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with start-ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions.
Work Environment

This is an on-site position only, located at the new GD-OTS facility in Mesquite, TX. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time, and may be requested to work a different shift. Travel requirements are less than 25%.
