Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Parts Specialist to join our team at Wilkins RV. As a key member of our parts department, you will be responsible for maintaining and providing excellent support to our technicians, achieving departmental sales goals, and ensuring accurate inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Support: Provide exceptional support to our technicians, responding to their needs and ensuring they have the necessary parts to complete their tasks efficiently.
  • Sales and Inventory Management: Achieve monthly sales goals for retail parts and accessories, maintain accurate inventory levels, and ensure timely ordering of products as needed.
  • Parts Processing: Handle incoming parts-related phone calls, arrange stock for easy access, and maintain a perpetual inventory system.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cashier duties for the parts and service departments as necessary.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain backorder files for customer special orders, update master parts and price books, and ensure maximum and minimum stock levels are maintained in the IDS computer system.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Assist the shipping and receiving department in receiving, counting, and stocking incoming merchandise and shop supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Perform daily cycle counts and assist in maintaining a clean and professional parts department.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a level of product knowledge necessary to market retail store products to prospective customers.
  • Team Support: Learn and understand the duties of fellow parts personnel to provide backup as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations; ability to calculate figures and amounts; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry; and ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Accounting software, Inventory software, and Internet software.
