Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at Heidelberg Materials. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our production crew, ensuring that our plant operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Schedule Plant Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules to maximize productivity and optimize the utilization of manpower, resources, and equipment.
  • Supervise Production Crews: Direct and supervise production crews, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, as well as daily, weekly, and annual performance objectives.
  • Monitor Plant Performance: Report daily production and track key performance indicators (KPIs) of plant performance.
  • Ensure Quality Control: Ensure that material production meets quality control standards.
  • Optimize Resource Utilization: Assist in accessing and optimizing the usage of existing reserves.
  • Schedule Maintenance: Schedule plant and mobile repair and maintenance internally and with outside vendors.
  • Manage Staffing Levels: Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained for the efficiency of the plant at all times.
  • Promote Safety: Promote safe work habits and provide safe working conditions, leading daily tailgate meetings and ensuring job tasks are completed as per job procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5 years of work experience in aggregate maintenance/production or at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a related industry.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and respectfully.
  • Composure: Composure, and the ability to professionally present information to, and respond to questions from others.
  • Physical Demands: Ability, desire, and motivation that align with the work environment, fluctuating shift schedules, extended periods of time moving back and forth to all areas of the plant, and occasionally lifting heavy objects and working in awkward/confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of aggregate maintenance/production equipment and processes.
  • Analytical Abilities: Analytical abilities and comfort with using data and objective information for making decisions.
  • Project Team Experience: Project team experience.
  • Union and Non-Union Environments: Capability and desire to work in union and non-union environments.
  • Future Leadership Potential: Capability and desire to become a plant manager in the future.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing Environment: Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
