Job Title: Linux/HPC Administrator

Job Summary:

The Linux/HPC Administrator will play a crucial role in managing the Institute's scientific computing environment. This position requires a strong understanding of Linux operating systems, high-performance computing, and IT infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the Institute's centralized computer cluster and associated storage systems.
  • Configure systems to align with security best practices and ensure the integrity, security, and performance of the Linux operating system.
  • Perform and validate system backup and monitoring, as well as apply required system and application patches.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, provide user support, and configure Linux servers and workstations.
  • Support lab Linux workstations and servers, and perform other related tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • At least three years of professional experience with Red Hat/CentOS or Ubuntu.
  • Experience with virtualization/container technologies, cluster management, and automation using shell/Python.
  • Knowledge of database maintenance, web server deployment, and network-attached storage configuration.
