The Med Surg Unit at Atrium Health Lincoln comprises 30 beds, catering to a diverse patient population, including pediatric, palliative, hospice, infectious disease, behavioral health, and orthopedic cases.
The Med/Surg nurse collaborates with our hospitalist team and various disciplines to manage critical care tasks such as chest tube management, IV infusions, IV insertions, wound care, dressing changes, and medication administration.

The RN Clinical Nurse I delivers professional nursing care through proficient assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, adhering to facility or department policies and protocols under the guidance of the nursing leader.
This role includes maintaining a safe work environment and performing all job responsibilities safely while ensuring clinical and professional competency relative to the patient population served.Essential Functions

Physical Requirements
This role requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Candidates must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English is required, along with intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity, critical thinking, and the ability to concentrate are essential. Candidates must be able to respond swiftly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical abilities testing is mandatory.
Education, Experience, and CertificationsGraduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required, with a BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification is required per policy guidelines. A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is necessary, or for those declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as their primary residency, compliance with home state licensure requirements is essential; for Non-National License Compact states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of practice.
