An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assembly Specialist to join our team at Edmund Optics. This role involves assembling and packaging opto-mechanical products under the direction of the Assembly Manager or Group Leader.
Responsibilities:- Assemble mechanical components, opto-mechanical components, and opto-electro-mechanical assemblies using equipment, hand tools, and bench tools.
- Integrate opto-mechanical sub-assemblies to assemblies.
- Perform intricate fitting and aligning on opto-mechanical sub-assemblies and mainframes.
- Test and calibrate sub-assemblies and finished units.
- Work with parts lists, drawings, wiring diagrams, and methods sheets to achieve predetermined standard production rates.
- Follow written and verbal procedures to maintain detailed records of work completed and control material in assigned work orders.
- Maintain work area and equipment in neat and orderly condition and adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- To be successful in this position, an individual must possess basic reading and writing skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and five to seven years of experience in mechanical or optical assembly.
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and assembly diagrams, as well as learn to build and troubleshoot complex optical-mechanical assemblies.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required for this role.
- The ability to lift up to 30 pounds and occasional bending and lifting are essential for this position.
- The job requires standing for long periods of time and working in a warehouse environment.
- Occasional use of a ladder to organize or obtain supplies and shop and power tools to modify parts or equipment may be required.
This salary estimate is based on industry standards and takes into account the level of experience and qualifications required for this role.
