Position Overview

HORNE LLP, a prominent accounting and consulting firm in the Southeast, is on the lookout for a motivated individual who thrives on assisting organizations in embracing the forthcoming wave of technological advancements and transformations. The Cloud Architecture Specialist will take charge of crafting innovative technology solution architectures that facilitate seamless user experiences while leveraging contemporary frameworks, capabilities, and tools. We are in search of a candidate with expertise in developing next-generation capabilities on scalable and secure enterprise-grade platforms. You will work closely with relevant business and technology partners throughout the firm to design and implement cutting-edge applications utilizing the latest tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Cloud Architecture Specialist encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Designing next-generation solution architectures utilizing native cloud services from leading providers (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure) employing various architectural concepts and strategies.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional product teams to design and launch new features.
  • Leading solution design, feasibility assessments, and technical optimizations that culminate in production deployment while exploring opportunities to enhance or expedite cloud services.
  • Designing secure infrastructures that are multi-segmented, both virtual and physical.
  • Influencing internal and external clients to expand or scale their operations through high-potential modernization initiatives.
  • Participating in code reviews to ensure quality and compliance with coding standards.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging software issues, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing effective solutions.
  • Staying informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Partnering with product management to design and deliver optimal solutions for clients.
  • Building and maintaining robust relationships and feedback mechanisms with leaders and stakeholders.
  • Communicating with relevant stakeholders in a clear, precise, and timely manner.
  • Exhibiting innovative thinking.
  • Managing multiple priorities, commitments, and projects using an Agile methodology.
  • Performing other tasks as necessary to fulfill project requirements.
  • This position may involve travel.
Required Qualifications
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in architecting solutions and leading transformations from traditional On-Prem Cloud/Cloud Hybrid environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Certification as an architect in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying complex secure network infrastructures.
  • Experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining intricate, multi-segmented secure network infrastructures, both virtual and physical.
  • Demonstrated ability to present and communicate technical designs effectively.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, programming, and Big Data technologies.
  • Proven experience with virtual and physical firewalls.
  • Demonstrated experience in network hardware design and engineering.
  • Experience in performance tuning and scaling for enterprise-grade applications.
  • Able to work independently as well as in team settings.
Preferred and Additional Considerations
  • Experience in developing AI-embedded software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Amazon AWS Solution Architect.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Google Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with pfsense.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience with Python and Spark.
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional.
  • ITIL V4 Certification.
