Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Tax Analyst to become a vital part of Intuit's Corporate Tax Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine sales tax returns submitted by external partners to verify their accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile sales tax accounts listed in the tax returns with the general ledger, addressing and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Conduct comprehensive analytical reviews of sales tax accounts.
  • Develop and maintain tax policies and procedures related to sales/use tax, business licenses, and property tax.
  • Investigate tax laws and regulations to uncover potential sales tax challenges and opportunities for savings.
  • Address tax notices, audit requests, and inquiries from sales tax authorities.
  • Enhance sales tax compliance processes through the use of technology (e.g., Tableau and Alteryx).
Collaboration and Process Improvement

Work alongside cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements that boost the efficiency and accuracy of sales tax operations.

Business License Management

Oversee the reporting function for business licenses.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business; equivalent experience will be taken into account.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales tax compliance for a multi-state organization.
  • Strong understanding of sales tax principles.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, resolve complex sales tax challenges, and consistently deliver accurate work with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong track record of teamwork.
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of sales tax laws and industry trends.
  • Experience with sales tax software and technologies (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, OneSource).
  • Familiarity with process automation tools and software (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
