Serena & Lily is on the lookout for a Retail Operations Supervisor to join our leadership team at our Chicago Design Shop. This role is pivotal in supporting store management to enhance client services, overseeing the store's operations to ensure optimal sales and profitability through effective merchandising, inventory management, expense oversight, human resources coordination, and controlling operational costs and shrinkage. The Retail Operations Supervisor will also streamline the receiving, shipping, and product storage processes, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and supporting frontline staff.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Cultivate, instruct, and ensure the team embodies and operates in alignment with the Serena & Lily Brand Ethos (Innovation, Style, Integrity, Optimism, Expressiveness, Confidence & Appreciation).

• Guarantee that every client and/or designer experiences exceptional service by fostering a welcoming atmosphere, which includes greeting and acknowledging every visitor, upholding high standards, demonstrating solid product knowledge, and all other facets of client service.

• Oversee order follow-ups, order flow, receipt of goods, and transfers, troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

• Collaborate with the Store Leader to manage associates in daily sales initiatives and business operations.

• Assist the leadership team in daily store functions, including opening, closing, banking, and inventory management.

• Establish and uphold stockroom standards to support the selling floor, including minor facility upkeep.

• Lead the management of merchandise stock levels, product placements, and presentations; ensure the selling floor is sufficiently stocked and maintain visual merchandising standards as directed by the home office.

• Anticipate, plan, and execute supply orders and replenishment for the selling floor as a crucial element of the customer experience.

• Oversee inbound receiving and outbound shipments.

• Mentor, guide, and continuously develop staff in collaboration with the Store Leader and Head of Customer Service Experience.

• Undertake any additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

**Essential Skills and Qualifications:**

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team towards achieving excellence.

• Proven track record of delivering exceptional client service standards and leading best practice implementations.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proactive in seeking solutions and demonstrating self-starting capabilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, particularly Word and Excel.

**Experience Requirements:**

• 1-3 years of experience in retail leadership, preferably in the interiors/home furnishings sector, or 1-3 years as a Store Associate at Serena & Lily.

• Preferred experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.

• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

• A strong sense of personal style.

**Physical Requirements:**

• Capability to process information and merchandise through computer systems and POS systems.

• Ability to communicate effectively with associates and clients.

• Proficient in reading, counting, and writing to accurately complete all necessary documentation.

• Ability to access all areas of the store, including the selling floor, stock area, and register area.

• Competence in operating all equipment necessary for store operations.

• Ability to climb ladders and move or handle merchandise weighing between 0-50 pounds.

• Flexibility to work varied hours and days to oversee store operations.
