Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Midwest Vision Partners. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our ophthalmologists and optometrists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with patients to gather information and accurately document their medical history, chief complaint, and present illness.
  • Proactively engage patients in communicating what to expect during their visit and provide clear instructions on pre and post-operative care.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry, to assist physicians in making accurate diagnoses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with established standards and physician requirements.
  • Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Educate patients on the administration of medications and provide clear instructions on pre and post-operative care.
  • Readily scribe for physicians and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA requirements.
  • Utilize effective problem-solving skills to de-escalate any dissatisfied patients and provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
