Job Summary

The Medical Assistant I, Certified provides essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and team members in an outpatient clinic setting. This role requires a strong foundation in patient care, medical terminology, and administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical tasks, including vital sign collection, patient data collection, and specimen collection.
  • Assist healthcare providers with treatments, examinations, and procedures.
  • Administer medications under the direction of a provider.
  • Perform tests, such as EKGs and eye exams, under the direction of a provider.
  • Review patient records to determine necessary health screenings.
  • Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
  • Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
  • Answer clinic telephone and assist with in-basket tasks.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant certification by a recognized organization.
  • Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
