Position Title: Senior Police Records Coordinator

Overview:

The Chesterfield County Government is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Senior Police Records Coordinator. This part-time position requires a high school diploma or GED along with a minimum of three years of experience in data entry and records management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Key Qualifications:
  • Proficient understanding of law enforcement terminology.
  • Expertise in utilizing computer workstations effectively.
  • Familiarity with records management principles, including relevant laws and regulations governing the retention and dissemination of police records.

Essential Skills:

Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and public relations abilities, are essential for this role. Candidates must be prepared to undergo pre-employment drug testing, an FBI criminal background check, and verification of educational qualifications.


Safety and Compliance:

This position is classified as Critical Safety Sensitive, necessitating compliance with random drug and alcohol testing protocols. The use of medical marijuana is not permitted for this role. Additionally, candidates must successfully pass a stringent criminal background check due to the nature of the work environment.


Eligibility:

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have been lawful residents of the United States for the past ten consecutive years.


Responsibilities:

The Senior Police Records Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Accurate typing and data entry of preliminary and follow-up documentation related to criminal investigations.
  • Data entry into the department's database and processing of FOIA requests.
  • Retrieving data from VCIN/NCIC systems and department databases.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
