The Surgical Technologist II provides safe and effective patient care in the Operating Room. This role works under the direction of the RN, assisting with nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Key responsibilities include setting up the sterile field, assisting the surgeon during procedures, and ensuring accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments. Additionally, this position is responsible for efficient room turnover and demonstrates competency in caring for patients of all age groups. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid surgical tech certification or LPN licensure in the appropriate state. AHA BLS certification is also necessary. This role requires the ability to take call and/or work weekends as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or LPN program
Valid and active surgical tech certification or LPN licensure in the appropriate state
AHA BLS certification
Work Requirements:
Day shift
No on-call responsibilities
Rotating weekends
No travel required
Location: Holston Valley Medical Center
