About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst and Test Engineer to join our team at Eliassen Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and delivering high-quality results.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively working with developers and business analysts to resolve issues or questions pertaining to test creation or execution. You will identify, communicate, and proactively contribute project risks as well as those of our supporting teams (as applicable). Additionally, you will be an authority in the overall team objectives and improvement initiatives, steer gathering of team requirements on process improvements, write comprehensive test cases, and maintain a library of test cases for various scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively work with developers and business analysts to resolve issues or questions related to test creation or execution.
  • Identify, communicate, and contribute project risks, as well as those of supporting teams.
  • Be an authority in team objectives and improvement initiatives.
  • Steer gathering of team requirements for process improvements.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive test cases for various scenarios.
  • Partner with development teams to promote understanding of test data and its role in the project lifecycle.
  • Support Continuous Integrated testing using industry-standard tools and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Finance from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of Software Quality Assurance or proven experience desired.
  • Data Lake or Data Warehouse experience is required.
  • Solid understanding of Data Warehousing systems and data migration concepts.
  • Demonstrable skills in Data Management, including Data Mining, Extract, and related disciplines.
  • Experienced with programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Strong experience with SQL is required.
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT validations in Oracle, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Good understanding of Behavior Driven Development - BDD Framework.
  • Strong experience in reporting tools such as OBIEE and Microsoft Power BI, etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL ideally within Snowflake.
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies AWS or Azure is preferred.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and strategies, as well as their application to multiple SDLC models, is preferred.
  • Experience with trading or financial applications is preferred, with a practical understanding of brokerage applications highly preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in response to changing business needs.
  • Experience in Agile methods, particularly Scrum, is preferred.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $60-$65 per hour, depending on experience.
