About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team at Fidelity Investments. The ideal candidate will have experience with Oracle databases and replication technologies, including Golden Gate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and implement database technology infrastructure solutions to resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Modify existing databases and database management systems or collaborate with programmers and analysts to make changes.
  • Automate recoverability for non-highly available databases.
  • SUPPORT Databases in an AWS Cloud Infrastructure environment.
  • Evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for upper management.
  • Develop methods for integrating different products so they work properly together such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs.
  • Design and implement complex databases and business critical designs.
  • Assess and communicate the impact of changes to the existing systems.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of change implementation efforts.
  • Assess readiness of the new system for conversion, includes routine procedures, system administration, recovery and restart scenarios, error procedures, distribution of software releases, distribution of data, and network management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Database Administrator (or closely related occupation) performing Oracle database administration in an IT solutions environment.
  • Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Database Administrator (or closely related occupation) performing Oracle database administration in an IT solutions environment.

  • Estimated salary range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
