Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Deliver financial insights and strategic recommendations to the CFO and Executive Management Committee, identifying growth opportunities and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Oversee the development of detailed financial plans, including pro forma statements, to facilitate strategic decision-making and achieve long-term objectives.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and Controller to establish and maintain essential financial systems and controls.
  • Formulate and implement the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations by monitoring key financial metrics and identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Define and implement key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the finance department and the organization.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including consolidations and reforecasting as necessary.
  • Utilize advanced financial modeling to project future performance and evaluate various scenarios.
  • Prepare budgets and financial forecasts that guide operational and investment decisions.
  • Analyze pro forma income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements based on various assumptions.
  • Oversee the evaluation of new financial software and technology enhancements.

Risk Management and Insurance

  • Evaluate financial risks, including market volatility and operational risks, and develop effective management strategies.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risks associated with operational inefficiencies and compliance.
  • Lead the Contracts and Insurance team through the annual insurance renewal process.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage by reviewing all lines of insurance, including General Liability and Cyber coverage.
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers as needed.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Assess the financial health of potential acquisition targets, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Determine valuations using financial modeling and market analysis to assess asset value and potential synergies.
  • Lead due diligence efforts during M&A activities.
  • Integrate financial systems and reporting structures post-acquisition.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years in senior finance management roles, with at least five years in a Controller or Director-level position; experience in construction is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • CPA, CMA, or CCIFP certification is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage financial risks effectively.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Experience in implementing accounting systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with multi-divisional accounting environments and S Corp tax experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with commercial insurance is a plus.

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Sage 300; high competency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Expertise in budgeting and forecasting tools.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and collaborative abilities.

Work Environment

The role is primarily office-based, requiring regular use of a computer and standard office equipment. The work environment is typical of an office setting, with frequent interruptions and the need to manage multiple tasks.

Compensation

Base pay range is $250,000 - $325,000.
