Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Abdominal/Trauma Clinic at Duke Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.
Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients with complex abdominal problems and traumas, including medical emergencies and surgical interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and develop strategies to address them.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor patient progress, report changes, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
- 12 months of relevant clinical experience, with a focus on trauma and critical care.
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, with the ability to obtain compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on trauma and critical care.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, and procedure.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
