Job Description

Job Title: Housing Stability Specialist

Job Summary:

Lantern Community Services Inc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housing Stability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing superior customer service to residents and prospective tenants, reviewing and maintaining tenant files, and ensuring compliance with applicable supportive housing guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to residents and prospective tenants
  • Reviewing and maintaining tenant files to ensure compliance with supportive housing guidelines
  • Collaborating with clinical staff and property management to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
  • Ensuring occupancy levels of all current projects are at least 95%
  • Managing lease renewals, annual documents, and income calculations
  • Communicating with funders and landlords to ensure timely rent collection
  • Identifying and resolving client behavioral issues that impact safety or facility

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing direct service to one or more of the following populations: persons living with HIV/AIDS, formerly and chronically homeless persons and families, young adults aged out of foster care, persons with mental illness, or persons in recovery from addiction
  • Prior experience with leasing compliance, property management, supportive or transitional housing, or asset management
  • Working knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8, and Fair Housing practices
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with all staff levels and management

Work Environment:

This job operates in a supportive housing site and works with a population who experiences mental illness, addiction, disability, HIV, and other chronic illnesses.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb stairs and/or kneel. Occasionally the employee will have to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
