Senior Mental Health Care Specialist

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our mental health team. The successful candidate will be responsible for addressing the physical and medical health needs of program participants.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm
  • Setting: Office/Clinic
  • Patient Population: Mental Health

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting mental status exams and assessing physical health needs
  • Making appropriate referrals to community physicians and overseeing coordination of care
  • Providing management and administration of medications in conjunction with a psychiatrist, including injections and oral medications
  • Utilizing a wellness management approach to provide individual and group counseling to clients on medication management, nutrition, and other healthcare matters
  • Participating on a team that delivers an integrated array of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services customized to each person
  • Participating in rotating 24-hour crisis coverage and response
  • Performing all other job duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Knowledge of nursing assessment methods
  • Skilled in counseling techniques through education, or training, or work experience

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
