Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Panning Utility Operator to join our team at North Freeze Dry LLC. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting and backing up operators in the panning process, ensuring compliance with operational manuals and quality criteria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce the required quantity of batched recipes within established specifications and tolerances, adhering to production plans.
  • Inspect dry ingredient materials and other raw materials, as well as in-process materials, to ensure compliance with function, quality, and recipe specifications.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of units produced, including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded materials.
  • Perform pre-operational equipment maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance, and process inspections.
  • Conduct quality and sanitation functions per the Quality Program and Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Report maintenance and quality opportunities to shift supervisors and/or managers.
  • Interface with the plant ERP system to ensure inventory control, lot traceability, and tracking.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
Panning Utility Operator Specific Tasks
  • Responsible for bringing out clean trays for usage.
  • Accurately place product on trays and manually level out product evenly and consistently.
  • Place tray on the overhead trolley system and once filled, push the trolley into the freezer.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of the panning machine(s) and plant area, including sweeping, removing trash, and cleaning the machine at the end of the shift.
  • Finalize any paperwork during the shift in an accurate, clear, and concise manner.
  • Utilize the ERP System for moving in-process materials and products into and out of inventory.
  • Follow all quality guidelines, Master Sanitation Schedules, and maintain a food-safe, sanitary environment.
  • Support other lines as necessary.
  • Dispose of waste materials and other items as required.
  • Operate a forklift as necessary.
  • Support other process functions as necessary during the day to maximize efficiency of the plant.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • (6) months working experience in a manufacturing/production facility preferred.
  • Ability to follow proper food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Forklift certification preferred, or willing to obtain.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Mechanically inclined, drive yourself to continually grow and develop your role.
  • Ability to adapt and accommodate change.
