Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist (CVRT) to join our Cath Lab. This role is essential in performing specialized diagnostic procedures in Radiology, including interventional angiographic and cardiac catheterization procedures.
Work Schedule:
- Minimum of 30 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Compensation:
Pay Range: $75-$85
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts specialized diagnostic procedures in Radiology.
- Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of all equipment components, including patient monitoring devices.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide age-appropriate care for patients.
- Assists physicians during various procedures.
- Competently selects catheters and guide wires, preparing the necessary contrast material.
- Prepares the procedure room with the required equipment and film.
- Prepares patients for procedures, providing explanations and obtaining preliminary films.
- Processes and assembles films for interpretation.
- Adheres to established radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff.
- Performs basic nursing functions, including vital signs monitoring.
- Identifies arrhythmias and communicates patient status to the physician.
- Correctly labels all films with anatomical site and patient identity.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
- Possession of either a Radiologic Technologist License in the State of Maryland and ARRT certification, or RCIS certification as an alternative.
- Current BLS CPR certification.
