Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse II in General Surgery and Trauma provides high-quality patient care, performing essential nursing duties such as administering medications, starting IVs, and collaborating with the healthcare team to create patient care plans.

About the Role
  • Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.

This role requires effective communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills. The ideal candidate must possess a valid NYS Registered Nurse license and have previous clinical experience, demonstrating skills in both emergency and primary care.

Responsibilities
  1. Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documents treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
  2. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  3. Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  4. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing.
Requirements
  • Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
