At Albany Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team.

Critical Care Nurse Specialists in our Post Cardiothoracic Surgery unit play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, implementing physician orders, and collaborating with the nursing team to develop care plans.

The ideal candidate will possess a professional nursing degree, current NYS RN license, and experience in clinical settings, particularly in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and performing treatments and procedures
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
  • Evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered
  • Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
  • Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills. A minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is also required.
