Job Summary

Central Washington University is seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Specialist 2 to join our High School Partnerships and Continuing Education teams in Ellensburg, Washington. This role is a crucial member of our team, providing fiscal oversight for the High School Partnerships and Continuing Education departments. The successful candidate will work closely with other fiscal specialists to ensure the overall fiscal health of the departments.

Job Responsibilities

The Fiscal Specialist 2 will be responsible for:

  • Developing, modifying, and maintaining record-keeping and reporting systems for complex funding sources.
  • Developing budgets for departments and programs, preparing forms for contracts and agreements, and assisting in the development of schedules for self-sustaining accounts.
  • Analyzing, modifying, and recommending improvements in fiscal record-keeping systems.
  • Forecasting fiscal needs and commitments, developing long-term planning documents, and participating in the planning of new programs.
  • Preparing invoices for billing to third-party payers and requisitions for payment of reimbursement.
  • Preparing specialized reports and conducting special studies to research and justify fiscal requests and needs.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with budgets, including budget projections, reconciliations, and generating reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with departments with varying program structures.
  • Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Access, and Excel.
