We are seeking a distinguished academic leader to fill the John F. Schaefer Chair in Matrimonial and Family Law at Michigan State University College of Law. The successful candidate will be an expert in matrimonial and family law, with a proven track record of teaching, research, and service.
Key Responsibilities- Pursue a rigorous scholarly agenda that advances the field of matrimonial and family law.
- Teach family law and other courses, as agreed upon by the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs.
- Contribute to the development of MSU College of Law programs and initiatives.
- Engage in service at the college and university, as well as in national organizations.
- JD or PhD in a related discipline.
- Knowledge of the legal profession and its practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with computer applications, including legal databases.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students.
- Publication record in reputable academic journals.
