Job OverviewThe Staff Clinician will provide direct clinical counseling services to UC students, developing and delivering outreach programs to foster a supportive environment. Working with DAAP administrators and CAPS, the clinician will provide consultation on strategies to enhance community resources and support student well-being.
Essential Functions- Provide direct counseling services, including single session therapy, counseling, and emergency management.
- Consult with the university community regarding counseling needs.
- Develop and provide outreach to students, faculty, and staff.
- Serve as liaison for counseling center to the university community and community agencies.
- Participate in training programs within the counseling center.
- Develop and coordinate programs within the counseling center.
- Collect data for program coordination.
- Stay current with developments in student mental health, cultural competency, and equitable access to services.
- Serve in a coordinator role at CAPS, assigned based on interests and/or experience.
- Represent the department on committees.
- May provide direct or indirect supervision for staff or trainees.
A Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling, or Doctorate Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD), is required.
Required Trainings/Certifications- Must be independently licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio, with the ability to supervise in their discipline.
- License must be achieved within six (6) months of date of employment.
Three (3) years of clinical experience are required.
Additional Qualifications1. A Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree in a related field is required.
2. Must be independently licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio, with the ability to supervise in their discipline. License must be achieved within six (6) months of the date of hire.
3. Three (3) years of clinical experience are required.
