Key Responsibilities of the Chief Officer of Enterprise Vendor Strategy:

The Chief Officer serves as a strategic leader across the organization, overseeing enterprise vendor management, sourcing, procurement, enterprise contract negotiations, software asset management, and spend & category management across various sectors including technology, market data services, corporate services, and travel services. This role encompasses comprehensive leadership in planning, executing, and monitoring enterprise sourcing management processes and initiatives.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of critical enterprise programs, including Sourcing & Procurement Operations, Spend & Category Management across Information Technology, Market Data Services, and Travel Services.
  • Expert negotiator in complex enterprise contracts, guiding a team of skilled negotiators through contract strategy and execution.
  • Manage internal business relationships, ensuring alignment with strategic sourcing and ongoing relationship management to address current and future business needs.
  • Act as a liaison with various teams, providing direct support for their data sourcing requirements.
  • Engage extensively with Investment Teams and Specialized Investment Managers to source and manage market data and investment solutions.
  • Oversee global procurement operations across all spending categories, leading cross-functional analytics to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Direct the Vendor Risk Management program, ensuring comprehensive oversight of third and fourth-party vendors.
Qualifications and Skills for Success:
  • Proven expertise in negotiating enterprise-level product and service agreements.
  • Strong talent management and development capabilities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Experience in the Asset/Investment Management industry across front, middle, and back office functions.
  • Thorough understanding of financial data services, including market, reference, alternative, and index services.
  • Extensive experience as a subject matter expert in market data services across various asset classes.
  • Prior experience managing centralized market data platforms and analytics services.
  • Proficient in technology sourcing and management.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with clients, auditors, regulators, and executive management.
  • Experience in managing third and fourth-party risk.
