Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant PRN

The University of Arkansas System is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant PRN to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a critical care specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to critically ill surgical patients. Your expertise will be essential in implementing individualized care plans, collaborating with attending physicians, surgeons, residents, and nurses to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Manage health issues for patients, independently or in collaboration with designated physicians.
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with designated physician(s).
- Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of medical professionals to diagnose and manage patients' healthcare problems.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, ensuring that care is timely and appropriate.
- Interact with and assist the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, communicate accurate and complete information, and maintain strict confidentiality when necessary.
- Demonstrate positive working relationships with coworkers, management team, and ancillary departments.
- Master's Degree Plus Two (2) years nursing experience with Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN/CPN License.
- Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- Completion of Physician Assistant program with a PA license with State Medical Board.
