We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Management Specialist to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our construction management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex, large-scale commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the company as a senior construction manager, ensuring quality control and contractor compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction projects of varying complexity.
- Coordinate work and inspections with contractor's representatives, client personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Generate reports of conditions found during inspection activities, notify project management of significant problems, and complete documentation necessary to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities.
- Prepare and review reports for preparation of entries into project management software and document materials and test reports for materials.
- Manage deadlines, prioritize assignments, and prepare final documentation for closeout process.
- Inspect installation of construction features, measure dimensions, and calculate quantities.
- Examine construction materials to ensure they meet specifications.
- Review plans, specifications, requests for information, submittals, construction schedules, shop drawings, and pay applications (QA/QC).
- Tabulate monthly quantities for use in determining contractors' monthly payment estimates.
- Prepare documents and maintain file management of project-related information, including correspondence, reports, and pictures.
- Train and/or mentor less experienced staff in company procedures, standards, and software.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Basic skills in math, drafting, and science.
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
- Proficient in project management software and project material certifications.
- Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team.
- Effectively communicates project issues with contractor, project team, and clients.
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- WVTRET Accreditation Level IV or V.
- Demonstrated experience in WVDOT procedures and policies.
